True Goal: The Moment

Finally accomplished Adho Mukha Vrksasana (handstand) into Bakasana (crow pose) today, a yoga goal for some time, and realized a couple of things.
  • The focus of Adho Mukha Vrksasana into Bakasana left me in a wonderfully empty space, a gift that yoga (and meditation and mindfulness) practice offers every time you truly hone your mind and body into the present moment.
  • Improvement in my practice isn’t nailing a goal like handstand into crow, it’s making the most of every pose and — gradually and patiently and hopefully with grace — more moments of my life on and off the mat.
  •  The accomplishment (སྒྲུབ་ཐབས) of this moment was the moment itself.
